The acknowledged influences of the British Invasion are scantly recognized, except for Moby's refernece to Satisfaction. Including Purple Haze as British could be done in a stretch, given Hendrix's period.

But, no Beatles? - from Yesterday to Let it Be, they have the most pervasive influence of any band, even more when you weight their length of existence as a group. I would vote for their "Hey Jude" or "All You Need is Love".

Current Brit-Pop cannot be counted out - consider Guided by Voiced ( http://www.gbv.com )and their "Motor Away" or "Game of Pricks". The thread continues ...
