Criss never wanted to be like the conventional magicians. He wanted to be unique and special. So, he created his.
As a young and enthusiastic magician, Angel made his first appearance on television in 1994 when he performed in ABC’s one-hour primetime show called “Secrets”.
This debut made him popular and was admired by many, especially Clive Barker, a horror movie director.
Barker supported Angel with all he had. In 1995, he invited Angel to help him with his latest movie ‘Lord of Illusions’. In 1997, Angel was featured in 2 movies The Science of Magic 1 & 2.
Barker was convinced that he would help Angel with the recordings of intros for Angel’s World of Illusion: System One.
That same year, he partnered with Klayton, a musician, to form the heavy metal band called ‘Angel’.
Their collaboration brought about a special show where music is combined with magic. They called the show Angeldust.
Before Criss Angel’s Mindfreak became a TV series, it was a Broadway show. In 2001, the World Underground Theatre picked the show and he continued performing on stage. When not on stage, Angel will still demonstrate his tricks to passersby.
The show later became his first television series on ABC Family special and ran for 85 episodes. Fortunately enough, the series became one of the most successful magic series in the history of television shows.
Criss Angel’s career was known for one thing. And that might be the craziest idea by anyone. Criss Angel held the record for the longest time for a human to be completely submerged in water.
He spent 24 hours fully submerged in a phonebooth-sized water tank in New York Times Square. The performance was also part of what would later become his first TV show.
With such an outrageous performance, Criss became the most-watched magician on the internet in 2010. In 2013, his videos recorded more than 200 million views on the internet.

Criss Angel attended East Meadow High School, in New York. He never proceeded to college. He indulged himself in learning new tricks.
His aunt always shows him new tricks with cards. He started performing at an early age on the streets, and in some local restaurants.

Most of what he did and knew were self-taught because he wanted to be different from other magicians and created his style of magic.

Criss is a man of luxury. If there’s anything that would make him enjoy his life, he’s ready to go all in for it, no matter how expensive.
No doubt, Criss Angel has money. And he has a steady stream for that. The money keeps coming. With such money and stream, Criss has no issues getting himself satisfied. He owns a 25,000-square-foot mansion in Las Vegas that defines the term luxury.
Criss’s garage explained how much love he had for expensive automobiles:
- Porsche 911.
- 2006 Hummer H2.

- Orange County Chopper.
- 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28.

How Does He Spends His Money?

To show how much he spent on automobiles, Criss had 7 of these bikes and a $330,000 Rolls Royce Phantom to mention a few.
For someone who’s always touring the World performing magic and tricks, it’s logical that Criss invests a lot of money and time in his family.
Most of his family trips weren’t always public. Criss is so keen to see that his family is safe from the media.
One of the publicly known family trips was the Mexico babymoon trip in 2021 when Shaunyl was pregnant with their 3rd kid of 27 weeks.
It was the best time for the family to move to Mexico as they were expecting the baby before the year runs out.
After then, it’ll be hard to say if the family had gone for another trip as Criss and his family continue to live a more private life than ever. Still, due to how busy he is, Criss won’t hesitate to make time to bond with his kids.
