Leah Pruett took after her father, a drag racer who held the world record for the highest land speed. Leah Pruett officially began her career as a drag racer at the age of 8 when she became a racer at the junior level.

At age 10, Leah Pruett won the National Team Champion Racing held by NHRA Jr. Dragster. Subsequently, she held the title every year, and in 2005, she already had 37 NHRA Jr. titles.

At a point, she broke the record of completing a race in 5 seconds elapsed time; then she secured her license for NHRA’s NitroFunnyCar. In 2011, R2B2 Racing signed her, and she won twice consecutively at the Pro Mod License.

She made her biggest hit when she defeated Brittany Force at the NHRA National Championship held in Arizona in 2016.
