He is well-known for building and selling outrageously luxurious mansions in Los Angeles, Holmby Hills, and Bel Air neighborhoods, including his most famous building project, “The One.”

Childhood

Niami was born in Los Angeles, California, on February 25, 1968. He grew up with his mum and younger sister, Delicia, in Miami, California. His mum worked as a special needs teacher by day and also owned a bar in Burbank where she usually worked at night. Nile Niami wasn’t born into wealth and struggled through most of his life.

Unfortunately, Nile’s mother’s life was short-lived because she died in 2001 due to a home assault. The then 33-year-old received word that his mother was violently murdered, which was a horrible and devastating experience losing his only parent.

As he grew in his movie career, Nile slowly got involved in real Estate by flipping affordable homes in the suburbs of LA. Over the next ten years, Nile worked his way up to flipping more expensive homes. In 2012, Nile hired architect, ‘Paul McClean’ to build a house for the ‘Winklevoss Twins’ (Cameron and Tyler) and sold the home to them for $ 18 million.

In 2014, the former producer sold a custom-built mansion to ‘P-Diddy’ for $ 39 million. In 2017, he sold a Beverly Hills mansion to ‘Floyd Mayweather for $26 million.

Nile Niami also built a house in Holmby Hills and sold it to a wealthy Saudi buyer for $44 million. The famous musician, ‘Sean Combs’ also bought a house in Holmby Hills from the amazing Realtor who made a cool $39 million from the deal in the same year.

All these huge deals and many others encouraged Nile to try something no one had ever done before. He decided he would build the most expensive home in Los Angeles, Bel Air, and name it ‘The One.’

In 2017, Nile also worked on a 20,500-square-foot home in Beverly called ‘Opus.’ The home was listed for $100 million with amenities like seven bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, and champagne storage. Purchasing the house also meant the buyer gets a gold Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce, and a full-time butler whose salary would be covered for two years.

Chinese billionaire William Ding made a $50 million offer for the home, but Nile refused to accept it. In April 2020, ‘Opus’ lender(s) filed a default notice on the house, forcing the celebrity realtor to give up property ownership.

Building The One

Nile Niami’s gigantic mansion in Bel-Air, ‘The One,’ was also designed by Paul McClean. The project began in 2012, and after eight years of development and a ton of delays, it was finally completed in 2021.

Constructing the monumental building made many Bel-Air residents uncomfortable, especially Fred Rosen, the chairman of the Bel-Air Homeowners Alliance. The chairman regarded the house as a ‘commercial project’ as a result of its size and suggested more restrictive regulations for the building.

The Bel Air mansion is over 100,000 square feet and looks like a huge futuristic building floating above the city. The One is tagged as the most expensive private residence in the entire United States, and apart from its size and captivating exterior design, the building has some amazing amenities such as:

It took Nile a decade of his life to building ‘The One.’ On his site (www.theonesecrets.com), Nile mentioned that no one can ever build the same thing from scratch in Bel Air, which makes ‘The One’ one of a kind.’

‘The One’ Sold at an Auction?

In March 2021, Nile’s limited liability company (Crestlloyd) couldn’t pay up the $165 million debt associated with the property, causing it to enter receivership. As a result of the debt owned, a foreclosure sale was scheduled for October 2021, but that didn’t happen because Nile’s LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The Los Angeles County Superior Court placed the Bel Air mansion on court-ordered receivership. Ted Lanes was appointed as the receiver, who ensured the property was completed and secured a certificate of occupancy.

Nile’s futuristic mansion was once valued at $500 million and was initially listed for sale in January 2022 at a $295 million asking price. Sadly, there was no offer for the home, and on March 4, 2022, the house went on sale at an auction for $127 million, making it one of the most expensive houses ever auctioned out in the United States.

‘The One’ broke the previous record set in 2021 after The Hearst Estate in Beverly Hills sold at auction to Richard Saghian (CEO of Fashion Nova) for $63.1 million.

Niami’s Tries to Tokenize ‘The One

Before the Auction, Nile attempted to gain back ownership by selling the house back in 2020. He talked about transforming the mansion into an event space where boxing matches and concerts would occur. However, the next idea he came up with was his unique and final attempt at stopping his lenders from selling the Bel Air mansion and gaining back their losses.

On December 27, 2021, Niami released a video on his site (www.theonesecrets.com) where he talked about his grand plan to create a cryptocurrency named ‘The One,’ which will be backed by the home.

According to the ambitious realtor, producing and trading the tokens will transfer the house’s value to the coin. Basically, everyone who has one of Nile’s digital currencies automatically owns a share of “The One.”

The difference between Nile’s supposed digital currency is that compared to others like Bitcoin or Ethereum, which is backed up by nothing, his currency would be backed up by different parts of the massive building, “The One.”

Sadly, Nile never realized that dream because the property was auctioned off in 2022.

Family, Relationship, Children

Nile Niami married Yvonne, a famous American actress, and model, in 1999. This couple stayed married for almost 18 years before they separated and finally divorced in 2017.

The pair have two children; Bryce (18) was born in 2004, and Brent (15) was born in 2007. Despite the divorce, Nile has a close relationship with his kids and does his best to make himself available for his family.

‘The One’ documentary is about how Nile spent three years believing in something that would help change the world, but his ex-friend stole the idea. Also, Nile talked about his travel show, ‘The One Movie,’ that would feature him traveling to different parts of the world.

He also referred to the experience of losing his home. For the realtor,  viewers would be amazed at what his team was working on despite the betrayal. Nile’s closing remark, “The One has gone nowhere.”
