Anselmo insisted that everything had been misunderstood and that he had been making jokes about the goodness of white wine. Later, it was discovered that three audience members had “heckled” Phil numerous times, continuously calling him racist. Career

Early in the 1980s, Anselmo began his musical career. Before joining the band Rapid Phaze (later renamed Razor White), he first co-founded the band Samhain. Phil composed music, played the guitar and sang at the same time.

Anselmo eventually quit high school to concentrate on his musical career. He soon lost hope in Razor White, though, and he left them to look for other choices.

Pantera was originally a Glam Metal band before changing their name. However, they had already undergone a tremendous shift when Anselmo linked with them. However, Pantera didn’t leave their Glam Metal roots behind until Phil’s entrance.

Pantera already had three albums out before Anselmo joined them in 1986. Pantera intended to follow the new wave of thrash metal, which was “in.” In 1988, they put out their fourth album, “Power Metal,” with the addition of 18-year-old Anselmo as their new lead singer.

Pantera modified its image after the publication of this album, eventually inked a big record deal, and went on to have commercial success with “Cowboys from Hell.” Anselmo had by now developed a more gruff vocal delivery.

After establishing “groove metal,” a brand-new subgenre of metal, Pantera released albums that got progressively heavier, like “Vulgar Display of Power” and “Far Beyond Driven.” The latter album entered the rankings at the top spot. Pantera issued “The Great Southern Trendkill” in 1996. The band was starting to fracture at this time.

The band was prepared to release “Reinventing the Steel,” their last studio album, by 2000. Pantera disbanded following the release of a previous collection. Anselmo was frequently blamed for disrupting band communications and shirking his responsibilities.

Phil concentrated on his solo project Superjoint Ritual after Pantera split up. A violent rivalry between Anselmo and Pantera’s guitarist Dimebag Darrell grew as the band’s dissolution-related controversies persisted.

Even further, Anselmo declared that Darrell “deserved to be beaten severely.” Later, in 2004, Dimebag was shot and died at a club. Vinnie Paul, the drummer for Pantera, also passed away in 2018.

Phil continued to work on projects after Pantera, including Down, Arson Anthem, Christ Intervention, Southern Isolation, Viking Crown, Eibon, and many more. In 2001, Anselmo established his own record company, Housecore Records.

Phil has used this record company mainly to disseminate older, unpublished recordings from his side projects. Later in 2001, Housecore and Baphomet Records combined. After only three albums, the two firms split up, and Housecore reverted to its previous design.

Phil Anselmo Net Worth Summary

Phil Anselmo is a renowned heavy metal singer who has made quite a name in the music industry. Although $4 million is a lot, many believe Phil is or should be worth more.

Most of Phil’s earnings came from Pantera. As the lead singer in the band, he earned relatively higher than others. The crew did so well, with some of their albums making millions in sales. Some of these albums include;

  • Vulgar Display Of Power, released in 1992 and sold 2.250.000 copies all around the world, amassing over $3,620,000
  • Cowboys From Hel was released in 1992 and sold 1.165.000 copies all around the world, making over $1,660,000
  • Far Beyond Driven, released in 1994, sold 1.406.000 copies all around the world and amassed over $1,880,000
  • The Great Southern Trendkill, released in 1996, sold 1.102.500 copies and raked in over $1,595,000 in sales, etc

This shows how successful the band was. So it may make sense to say that Phil is worth less than he should be, owing to his position in the round. Aside from selling albums, the band sold customized Pantera shirts, caps, and a beer brand.

Phil’s primary income source is his record label, Housecore Records, established in 2001. As the founder, he owns the lion’s share of the label’s revenue. Anselmo may also be involved in other adventures that we don’t know of.
