Rob Halford is from a Christian family, although he doesn’t practice the religion. His parents, Barrie and Joan Halford are in their 80s. Rob has also revealed that he has two siblings, his sister Sue and his brother, Nigel.

Career

Ian Hill, the co-founder and bassist of the heavy metal band Judas Priest, was introduced to Halford when he was working as the manager of a pornographic theatre in the early 1970s. Hill was seeing Sue, the sister of Halford, at the time.
After that, lead singer Halford joined the group as well as drummer John Hinch, with whom he had previously played in the band Hiroshima. At the Townhouse in Wellington, England, Halford and Hinch performed with Judas Priest for the first time in 1973.

The next year, Judas Priest issued its first studio album, “Rocka Rolla.” In the 1970s and 1980s, Halford kept playing lead vocals for the band, releasing the albums “Sad Wings of Destiny,” “Sin After Sin,” “Stained Class,” “Killing Machine,” “Unleashed in the East,” “British Steel,” “Point of Entry,” “Screaming for Vengeance,” “Defenders of the Faith,” “Turbo,” and “Ram it Down.”
With several new tattoos, including an oblique Judas Priest cross on his right arm and a ring around his other arm, Halford refreshed his enduring leather-and-studs look in 1990. He also began shaving his head at this time.

The group also released its 12th studio album in 1990, “Painkiller.” Halford made a memorable entrance into the stage on a massive Harley-Davidson motorcycle during the final show of the album’s tour in 1991. Halford injured his nose when the vehicle malfunctioned, causing him to slam into a drum riser and fall off the bike.
The band started playing while he was briefly unconscious; after that, he awoke and helped finish the show. Halford formally departed Judas Priest in May 1992 and filed a lawsuit against Sony, the band’s record company, alleging unfair business practices.
